* SPOILER * Shabba - Stapel Round 1
I don't know how I exactly got talked into this, but I'll give it a shot. Tiny map, 2 AI (carthage and greece) and Emperor (quite high for me). Oh, and Stapel.
Starting position: scouted and moved, to get the Scouted and moved, to get the cow for my capital. Some questions: I expect this game to run fast, so is it worthwile to go for a granary in my capital and build a settler factory? Should I do the research myself or stockpile up cash and let the AI do the work? I need iron working, and I need it fast! Killer made the map, and I'm pretty sure that evil bastard hid the iron for me on some impossible spot

I'd build the city exactly where you are now. But don't ask me how to make a settler factory. :-X But I would in any case make one a.s.a.p., since on a tiny map it's very important to build cities a.s.a.p., I think.

I've build the city one tile NE. That way I got the cow in the "bonus" culture expansion, and enough space for the capital and on the inside of the ring. I'll build the rest of the cities with only nine tiles for each city. I think.

Wow! There is really a lot of food here. Looks like you can have 25-30 cities before 1000BC! Or whip a decent army and go rampaging around about the same time. If you can grab everything: cows, game, wheat, flood plains ... You can be fine probably even without settler factory. Just build settlers and workers in all these cities. And capital can be used for barracks and warriors. Wow! Indeed, lots of food.

Turn 44: Stapel and I make contact.
Something went terribly wrong. Stapel made contact with both AIs by turn 15 or so. So far, I've only met the Greeks: of course I had sent out a scouting unit immediately, but I saw the greeks to the north, so I scouted to the south. A. Lot. Of. Empty. Land. There. Oh, no goody huts either (although killer might have disabled those). The consequense: Stapel offers me masonry, wheel, warrior code, alfabet, philo, CoL. Sooo... The greeks somehow don't want to sell to me. Weird. I guess they can ask big bucks since I hadn't contacted anybody else (before this turn).
