CIV BtS game?
So I'm not really fanatically playing civ4 (not at all really), but with the meeting in july coming up I figured it would be adviseable to play another succession game. Besides that, it'd probably be fun as well!
So, who's in? I'm not really looking forward at deity or sid, but at least something beyond chieftain. Heh. One complication: I'll be moving in three weeks, and I'm not certain when I'll have a working internet connection at home. Haven't tried it with civ4, but I assume pbem would still be an option.

OK, I moved and I have a working internet connection. What about it? I'd like to play the CDZ world map.

- Edit the map. I am not trying to bash the mapmakers here. I think they did a great job, but there are a few things that are a bit annoying (IMHO), especially if you're playing the Aztecs. There's a spice source in the water of the coast of the Yucatan peninsula and tehre's a strange island with an offshore platform (IIRC) on it about 15 tiles SE of South Africa. I know these are all really minor details, but getting them right is not a really big effeort. - Play on epic or marathon speed. When playing against human players a normal speed on such a huge map is fine, but when playing against the AI it just felt wrong to me.

I'd like to participate. Although I don't know if such a huge map is right for SG. OTOH, why not...

It's been a long time since I've participated in a succession game, so count me in as well!
I agree with Darkness, by the way. And I've already made these changes on the map earlier. (That includes removing the flood plains in the Arabian peninsula, and a missing flood plain tile in Kazachstan.) I slightly prefer to play on a random map. But the Earth map is fine as well.

See it as a starting point. Smaller maps are probably better because you can achieve domination and such. My thought was that the RTW map would be a nice showcase, because of the two pitboss games on that maptype. But any map is fine with me. Archipelago/vikings?
