The Emperors new cloths
Been playing some SP civ again these last few months. I got the monarch level pretty much down but having a hard time winning emperor level games. World famous quecha rush will work, as similar aggressive approaches with civ's with good early UU. Random games are about 50/50. I'd like to get a bit better so I;m starting some practice games and will put up some spoilers here hoping for feedback.
Emperor game 1 start pangea, standard size, random civ. RNG gives me byzies, Just I. Here's the start, not bad at all. nice starting position and NW cow and NE FP+gold providing good positions for no 2 and 3 city. Press B Want to start on worker and agri but that's worker 15 turns and agri 10 turns. Wondering if this is the smart thing, maybe growing a pop might be smarter. Taking a 2nd look. growing would take 8 turns and then the extra tile would only give me 1 more hammer, 12 turns for worker still. Decide to go for worker. Extra bonus: the first 15 turns will be dead easy turn 2 my warrior meets Frederick, yikes he must be close! Also another goodie hut in sight. Gives a scout, marvelous. turn 3 Goody hut again, 42 gold. turn 6 Goody hut again, 37 gold. turn 7 Survayarman stumbles onto my scout. turn 8 Both warrior and scout defeat some animals. turn 10 Agri researched, start on mining. Aiming for BW so I can chop/mine for settlers. See some unknown pink border but had already moved my scout the other way. turn 15 Worker done, start irrigating corn. Have met some more civs between turns 10 and 15 as well. -- time for bed --
