THE INTRODUCTION by the mapmaker:
Today’s your lucky day. You’ve discovered a magic lamp and the Genie of the Lamp will grant you 3 wishes for the next PBEM game. Your first wish is you get to spend 300 shields on any Ancient Age units you want. Your second wish is to add a new trait and the matching starting tech, if you already have that tech you’ll get to pick the new starting tech for your tribe. Your third wish is to add a pair of new UUs to your tribe (that’ll give you 3). Your new UUs will have to be a UU of another tribe. Since I’m feeling generous I’ll give you a bonus wish, you get to pick your AI neighbor. Number of human players: 4 Number of AI: 4 Level: Monarch Size: Large Map: Normal weather & terrain on a Continents map Barbarians: None (no huts either) SGL: On (no restrictions on usage) Statue of Zeus: Minor Wonder requires Horses Knights Templar: Minor Wonder requires Iron Great Library: Add a library to each continental city – Expires with Education Starting bonus: AI start with 2 settlers, 2 workers & 50g Humans start with 200g Wish 1 (Starting units): 300 shields to spend on starting units Wish 2 (New trait): Add a new trait to your tribe (added to your normal 2) Wish 3 (New UUs): Add a new 2 UUs to your tribe (total of 3 UU) Restrictions: Must be AA units (remember to include a settler) The UUs you select must be a UU of another tribe Special rules: All players can build AC (Mathematics) & Crusaders (Theology) Bonus wish is you get to pick your AI neighbor |

Roster:
Knutis: England + SCI (Bronze Working) – Siphai & Panzer – Egypt Calis: Byzantines + AGR (Pottery) – Cossack & Panzer – America Cyc: France + AGR (Pottery) – Gallic Sword & Chinese Rider – India DenyD: Ottoman + AGR (Pottery) – Berserk & Panzer – Korea These are the additional choices of all players regarding extra trait and extra two UUs As this is a continents map, I went for a seafaring civ hoping to meet many others early. Regarding the additional trait I was thinking between industrial and agricultural and finally took the agreicultural trait for quick expansion. The choice of the two extra additional UUs: I was the first to come up with Panzers, and I actually regretted it when I saw that two others went with the same choices, but ok....Regarding the Cossacks I have to admit that I love them for their blitz ability with which they can really produce a bunch of MGLs. My 300 shields I used for 6 settlers (180), 10 workers (280), 2 scouts (300) I took the risk of taking no military units to be able to get a bunch of cities early. I do not exactly know what the others took, but nobody took a majority of military units, So I do not have to fear an early rush with starting units. Nonetheless, I have to get some military soon. The playing order: Calis - Byzantines Knutis - England Cyc - French DenyD - Ottoman Empire Just today I got the first turn and will open it in a few minutes. So more is to come real soon... |

Here is the starting situation:
And this is the situation after my first move: I moved two settlers each to the east and to the southeast, as there is a river and my first cities shall be located near rivers of course...and one settler went to the north probably founding another coastal town... I moved 4 workers onto the cow, so I can irrigate it next turn and three each to the east and the southeast to road these tiles I am thinking about a rather tight city placing just to get a head start over the others and to be able to quickly expand, but I will review this idea after uncovering more land. So far there seem to be tons of BG tiles and these would allow for such an extremyly tight build. Any questions and/or comments? Last edited by Calis; 21-10-2008 at 22:35. |
