Anyone want to play a game? im not very good so would be over quite quickly

Sure, I'd like to. :) I prefer playing with three players (or more). But a 1on1 is nice as well.

I would join however I need to get my pc situation straightened out first. I hope to have to recovery disk today or tomorrow so I'm crossing my fingers.

How about 2x2 locked war. Duel research on Civ4 is kinda cool and adds a dimension.

When will the new patch be out?

Who knows. Perhaps never. (i.e. the expansion pack is the coming patch.)

I agree with you Matrix... maybe never. Especially if the disigners are too busy surfing and not working :)

Mistfit how come i cant look at that link? Sirian aint got a clue about the patch but it aint looking hopeful anytime soon.

Btw this is my 2nd MP game after pitboss one over at cfc, oh and i spose ive played a couple with a friend but he isnt that good so it doesnt really count :)

No, there should be a patch. Current state of the game can be characterized as essentially uplayable especially in PBEM and to a certain extent with MP.

this all reminds me of the 1.22 patch process for C3C

Krys posted this actually [lol] Well, just replace "Pirates" with "Oblivion" and Civ:Complete with CIV:Warlords. Only problem is, that it's Take2 this time, and not Firaxis, that's apparently holding it up (I do beleave Sullla et al on this, as I have no reason not to).

Looks like we have BCLG100, Matrix, and grahamiam, as well as Darkness since Whomp's comp is DOA.

I'd be fine with a 2v2 Locked War. I'd prefer small size, whatever landmass we agree on. How about we all choose random civ's?

Normaly you put the two stronger players on one team and the newbies on the other. That way, we get less forum down time because the size of the spoilers are smaller.

Ah right ok, well they should do it soon, what needs to be done after that? couldnt we start getting that sorted before we have a final group of players.

yep, let's decide on a map script and starting era. If we go with something later, say Industrial, I think we start with 3 settlers as well as some rifles and explorers, which should get things going immediately [hammer] or we can just go with an ancient start, doesn't matter to me. Map script seems tricky, not sure if I want pangea or some water between the teams.

We'll we're going to have to wait till matrix gets back, are we playing PBEM or anyone going to set up pitboss? Whomp was the one who said about 2v2 but i dont know how to set that up either :). if we're doing 2v2 how about ring?

I've never played ring, so it sounds good to me :) I like new experiences. Also, not sure how to set up the 2v2, but I'll try to fiddle with it tonight. Any advice from the peanut gallery would be appreciated :)

I think 2x2 is set up as AW. The main difference is that with a research partner both can research the same tech and cut the research time in half.

Are we going for an early start as well? just because it would be unfortunate for someone to get an anceint age civ without a UU. are we going to play with barbs on?

Hm, in second thought I do have a slight preference. First of all I'm already playing a PBEM on a "wheel" map, so anything but that please. http://www.straland.com/images/smilies/undecided.gif Secondly, the earlier the better. Classical or Medieval era instead of Ancient is ok, but not much later please.

And in case you're wondering "Hey, I thought that dude was gone?!": I'm with my parents who don't have Civ4.

Just start a new PBEM and see what happens/what options you have. That's what I do when learning something new.

But I might as well to start it, if you like.
